Theme & Concept
KALODHWANI For generations, the Bengali Panjika (almanac) has remained deeply woven into Bengali life, rituals and festivities. From dates, tithis and auspicious occasions to social information, curious advertisements, old typography and illustrations, the Panjika is also a fascinating document of its time. Naktala Udayan Sangha’s Durga Puja 2026 explores the origin and evolution of the Bengali Panjika—its many forms, what its pages contain and omit, and why it continues to remain relevant even today. Through old pages, printed letters, illustrations, advertisements and distinctive printing styles, the theme revisits a familiar yet gradually fading world of Bengali time, belief and everyday life.
